Technical Information

Here's all the technical information that you need to make the most of your visit to our website at altered-art.net.

Browser Versions

Unfortunately we are not able to check every page in all of the many different browsers that are used for surfing the internet, although we believe that everything should work satisfactorily in those that are most commonly used by our visitors. We have tested everything (we hope) in Internet Explorer 7.0, Firefox 3.6, and Google Chrome 2.0 and later versions, but if you should encounter problems using these or any other browser, please don't hesitate to let us know by using our Technical Help Form.

You should expect minor variations in appearance, facilities available and performance depending on which browser you are using. For example, you may find that Internet Explorer offers a slightly better display quality, whereas facilities requiring additional programming may run slightly faster in Firefox or Google Chrome. This situation may change as new browser versions are released.

We would not recommend that you use Internet Explorer 6.0 or earlier versions.

Browser Windows: Links to This and Other Sites

Almost all links from this site to other sites will open in a new browser window. Although most of the links to pages on this website will open in the same window, a small number will open in a new window, and a few in a smaller one.

By selecting the appropriate browser settings you may choose to open those links that would normally open in a new window in a new tab in your current browser window. If you do this you may find that some of those pages that open in a smaller window cause your current window to be resized. If this happens, and you wish to avoid this occurrence, you should set your browser always to open this type of link in a new window.

Monitor Resolution

This website is designed to be viewable without horizontal scrolling when using monitor resolutions from 1024 x 768 pixels upwards. We run our monitor at a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels, and find it very comfortable viewing. Our experience suggests that using a screen width of over 1280 pixels may result in reading difficulties, and we wouldn't recommend this unless your eyesight is very good, or you have a very large monitor.

This website uses cookies for navigational purposes and to enhance our visitors' experience. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, but please note that if you do so you may not be able to use the full functionality of the website.

Please see our Privacy Policy for a fuller discussion of the use of cookies by this website.

Additional Programming: JavaScript™

JavaScript has become one of the most popular programming languages on the web. This website uses JavaScript to provide improved navigational facilities and to enhance our visitors' experience.

You may refuse the use of JavaScript by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, but please be aware that if you do so you will not be able to use many of the facilities offered by this website.
