Inch Bug Bites!

Have you been bitten by the 'inchie bug' yet?

Inchies are the latest thing to hit the altered and mixed-media art scene. They are tiny pieces of art just one inch square, usually made from mount board, with a background, focal point and embellishments, much like artist trading cards. Fabric inchies by Maria AdamsAlso as with artist trading cards, some enthusiasts like to make them from fabric.

Although they can stand as works of art in their own right, you may also wish to incorporate them into larger pieces of artwork, such as artist trading cards, mixed-media canvasses etc.

A large number of inchies could be made into a mosaic, or you could use them to cover a plain picture frame for an unusual and dramatic effect.
